The usual steps
- Create an Oklahoma Single Sign-On and OECS account
- Complete the certification or dual background check
- Order official transcripts from every college directly to OSDE
- Select the Out-of-State Reciprocity application
- Upload the complete source certificate showing areas, dates, class and deficiencies
- Submit the online application
- Review the OECS certificate or advisement letter
What can change your path
- • Standard, Professional and equivalent completed-program licenses are accepted
- • Provisional, Emergency, Temporary and equivalent credentials are not accepted for reciprocity
- • The requested Oklahoma area must be comparable to the source area
- • Testing and coursework are not added for areas that Oklahoma reciprocates, but may apply to new or unmatched areas

Completed-program reciprocity
A Standard, Professional or equivalent source license based on fulfilled program requirements can support the comparable Oklahoma certification area; temporary and provisional classes do not.
No new test for reciprocated areas
OSDE states that additional testing or college coursework is not required for areas it reciprocates, though unmatched or newly added areas can carry Oklahoma requirements.

The OECS application uses an Oklahoma background check, official transcripts sent directly from every college and a legible source certificate showing its class, dates, areas and any deficiencies.
