About TeachPassport

Why TeachPassport exists

We built TeachPassport because a straightforward question about a teaching certificate can turn into an evening of searching. The answer may be spread across an agency website, an application form and a page that assumes you already know which rules apply.

You might be renewing between school days, applying for a new job or deciding whether to move. We want to make the paperwork easier to understand, so you can spend your time on the decision itself.

We bring the relevant requirements and official links together, explain what needs your attention and help you keep track of what you’ve already done. As we add more tools, we keep coming back to one practical question: does this help a teacher take the next step?

What you can expect from us

  1. 01

    Official sources

We read the agency’s own guidance, link to it and show when we checked it. You should be able to see where an answer came from.

  2. 02

    Honest limits

If a requirement is unclear or depends on an agency’s judgment, we say so. TeachPassport is independent of licensing agencies, and each state makes its own certification decisions.

  3. 03

    A free place to start

Official lookup links, public guides and your initial requirement check stay free. You can read the answer before deciding whether to save it or get more help.
