For a covered valid certificate expiring June 30, 2027, complete 10 clock hours of approved educator-ethics learning during the certificate’s validity period and by its expiration date.
Application window
ALSDE must receive applications from January 1 through June 30, 2027, and not before the calendar year of expiration. The fee is $38, nonrefundable, plus a transaction fee.

Professional Educator and Professional Leadership Certificates are covered when valid and expiring June 30, 2027.

CTE certificates must be renewable. For Cosmetology and Barbering or Health Science, attain and submit the required current or active Alabama occupational license to ALSDE before ALSDE receives the continuation application.

The document promises an approved-provider list by October 1, 2026. County and city superintendents and eligible Alabama nonpublic or private-school administrators are also approved providers.
