The usual steps
- Create an OPAL account
- Select the corresponding Nevada license and endorsement
- Arrange official transcripts directly to NDE
- Upload the qualifying source license
- Document at least three of the last five years in aligned full-time assignments
- Submit competency-test or exemption evidence
- Complete the NDE fingerprint and criminal-history process
What can change your path

Three-of-five reciprocity rule
Nevada may issue a corresponding license when the applicant holds a qualifying full source credential and satisfactorily taught in a similar assignment for at least three of the five years immediately before application.
Testing controls provisional status
A qualifying reciprocity applicant who has not satisfied Nevada's competency-testing rule may receive only a nonrenewable provisional license; National Board holders have a separate testing exemption.
Core evidence
OPAL review requires official transcripts, the qualifying source license, aligned experience verification, applicable test or exemption evidence and NDE-specific fingerprints for the criminal-history review.
Published initial fee
Nevada's regulation lists a $180 initial application fee including state and federal fingerprint processing, excluding any examination costs; confirm the amount in OPAL before filing.
