Published initial fee

Requirement

Nevada's regulation lists a $180 initial application fee including state and federal fingerprint processing, excluding any examination costs; confirm the amount in OPAL before filing.

What the published fee applies to

Nevada's reciprocity regulation uses a qualifying full out-of-state license, aligned field and grade level, and at least three of the previous five years of comparable successful teaching.

What can change this answer

The source credential cannot be temporary, emergency, alternative or provisional and must reflect a bachelor's degree and professional education; three of the prior five years must be in a similar assignment, while unmet Nevada testing leads only to a nonrenewable provisional license.

Documents you may need

OPAL review requires official transcripts, the qualifying source license, aligned experience verification, applicable test or exemption evidence and NDE-specific fingerprints for the criminal-history review.

Costs and route conditions to keep separate

  • The source license must not be temporary, emergency, alternative, provisional or otherwise restricted by discipline
  • The Nevada grade levels and subject areas must align with the source credential and experience
  • The regulation requires at least three of the five years immediately before application in a similar assignment
  • An applicant who has not met Nevada testing can receive only a nonrenewable provisional license

Confirm the amount before paying the state agency.
