Requirement
The LER uses official transcripts sent directly by every institution that awarded a bachelor's degree or higher, a copy of the standard source license, optional signed experience verification and score reports, and background clearance when USIMS marks it required.
Which application this evidence supports
Utah uses a License Equivalency Review for an educator with a bachelor's degree, completed preparation and a standard renewable source license, with a compact route for eligible member-state professionals.
What can change this answer
A standard renewable out-of-state license plus completed preparation supports the LER; temporary, alternative, probationary, provisional, substitute, LEA-specific and associate credentials do not qualify for the Interstate Teacher Mobility Compact branch.
Conditions to resolve before sending records
- •The standard LER expects a bachelor's degree, completed educator preparation and a standard renewable source license
- •Out-of-state program completers must first obtain the license in the state where their program is based
- •Eligible compact holders receive an equivalent Utah license
- •Utah applies the preparation state's testing requirements to an out-of-state program rather than adding Utah-only tests
- •Fingerprinting and background review are required when the USIMS checklist marks them required, not unconditionally
