The reciprocal review uses the current comparable source license, degree and approved-preparation records, verified experience, prior score reports, endorsement evidence and fingerprint clearance.
Which application this evidence supports
New Mexico assigns reciprocal license level primarily by verified teaching experience under a standard license, with additional degree, preparation, testing and endorsement evidence.
What can change this answer
Fewer than three full school years supports Level 1, at least three supports Level 2, and at least six plus a qualifying master's degree or National Board certificate supports Level 3-A; the source credential must be current, valid and comparable.
Conditions to resolve before sending records
- •Level 1 is the branch for fewer than three full school years of qualifying service
- •Level 2 requires at least three full school years while holding a standard credential
- •Level 3-A requires at least six full school years and a qualifying master's degree or National Board certification
- •A source license alone creates no presumption that PED will issue the requested license or endorsement
