Core application evidence
Requirement
The portal review uses official degree and preparation records, source certification, program-status verification, student teaching or experience evidence, examination records and a current professional-conduct form.
Which application this evidence supports
Louisiana uses a three-year nonrenewable Out-of-State certificate when aligned Praxis requirements remain, while completed exams and verified experience can support renewable Level 1, 2 or 3 certification.
What can change this answer
With aligned exams complete, fewer than three successful years leads to Level 1, at least three years to Level 2, and at least five years plus a graduate degree to Level 3; without the exams, the three-year OS bridge usually applies, and stale experience can trigger a one-year OS1 certificate.
Conditions to resolve before sending records
- •Preparation must include student teaching, internship or an accepted equivalent
- •The certificate is issued after a Louisiana employing school system verifies employment
- •The three-year OS certificate is nonrenewable and is intended to clear Praxis requirements
- •An educator without successful K-12 teaching in the past five years receives a one-year OS1 bridge regardless of older experience or completed exams
Send identity documents and background records only where the state agency instructs. TeachPassport does not receive them.
