The state, institution, employer or testing provider may need to send some records directly.

Core application evidence

Requirement

Idaho requires the application, current certificate or qualifying recommendation, official transcripts verifying at least a bachelor's degree and endorsement areas, and a Background Investigation Check packet.

Which application this evidence supports

Idaho accepts a current valid out-of-state certificate based on a fully completed approved program, or a recent institutional recommendation from a CAEP- or AAQEP-accredited program.

What can change this answer

A current valid certificate must trace to a full state-approved program in a NASDTEC jurisdiction; without that credential, only a CAEP or AAQEP institutional recommendation from a program completed within the last two calendar years uses this packet, with content-assessment evidence added.

Conditions to resolve before sending records

  • Idaho will not accept an expired out-of-state certificate for this route
  • The source certificate must show a visible valid period
  • An institutional recommendation is limited to CAEP- or AAQEP-accredited programs completed within the last two calendar years
  • The application is not complete until the required documents and fees are assembled

Send identity documents and background records only where the state agency instructs. TeachPassport does not receive them.
