Georgia uses interstate reciprocity to evaluate a comparable out-of-state professional certificate, preparation, degree, experience and special Georgia requirements.
What can change this answer
Three years of successful full-time out-of-state experience is a key boundary between the Professional and Induction routes, while field comparability and unmet Georgia-specific requirements can change the issued certificate.
Conditions to resolve before sending records
- •Three or more qualifying years can support a Professional certificate; less than three can lead to an Induction certificate
- •Missing content-knowledge or literacy requirements may result in a one-year certificate with deficiencies
- •Georgia issues only comparable fields and reciprocity applicants do not qualify for Provisional certification in the reciprocity field
