Louisiana Department of Education record help

Why isn’t my Louisiana teacher certificate showing up?

A missing public result does not, by itself, prove that a certificate never existed or that an application was denied. Check what this state publishes, retry the official search carefully and then use the right private or historical record process.

Retry the official Louisiana search

The search happens on the agency site. TeachPassport does not receive the name, credential number or result you enter there.

Record timing

An application still in review is not yet part of the public record. Check the Application Status page or the LEC Portal for where it stands.

If the result is still missing

Use the right next record

  • Check the spelling and try a former name used when the certificate was issued.
  • Remember that an application still in review is not yet an issued public certificate.
  • For your own application, use LDOE's Application Status page or sign in to the Louisiana Educator Certification (LEC) Portal.

Pending application

A pending file may not belong in the public lookup

The public Teach Louisiana search is for issued records. For a pending application, LDOE links its Application Status page and the private Louisiana Educator Certification (LEC) Portal.
