Pennsylvania Department of Education application

Check your Pennsylvania teacher application status

Use the state’s private applicant process for a submitted application. The public certificate lookup answers a different question: whether a credential has been issued and appears in the state record.

You will leave TeachPassport for Pennsylvania Department of Education applicant guidance or sign-in. TeachPassport does not ask for or receive your agency password.

Who this is for

Who this page is for

An educator who has already started or submitted a Pennsylvania teacher-certification application and can access the agency's applicant process.

What this page can tell you

Pennsylvania tells applicants to use Applications in Process on the TIMS dashboard, then open Track Progress for the exact follow-up. The state also says its public certification website can show application status, but the private dashboard is where the applicant can see what PDE still needs.

Check the file without losing the next step

Your turn

  1. 01Sign in through the agency's official page rather than a link in an unexpected message.
  2. 02Open the application or transaction you submitted and read the exact status shown by the agency.
  3. 03Check for a missing-item, fee, transcript or other document notice before relying on the status label alone.
  4. 04Keep the submission date, latest agency update and any non-sensitive request you need to answer.

If the portal has no useful update

Stop before guessing

  • Confirm that the application was submitted rather than left as a draft and that the required fee was accepted.
  • Check whether transcripts, test scores, experience forms or other records must arrive from a third party.
  • Use the agency's published contact route when the file is beyond its stated window or the portal asks for something you cannot identify.

Only Pennsylvania Department of Education can decide whether the file is complete or issue the credential. TeachPassport cannot expedite the review or interpret silence as approval or denial.
