Which application this evidence supports
Indiana evaluates a valid out-of-state license and approved out-of-state preparation, then either issues the aligned license or uses a one-year reciprocal permit while specified testing or coursework deficiencies are completed.
What can change this answer
The key branch is whether the applicant already has accepted content-test evidence and, for seven protected content areas, approved coursework; an otherwise eligible license holder can receive a one-year temporary reciprocal permit when one of those requirements remains.
Conditions to resolve before sending records
- •A content test is required for every content area shown on the Indiana license
- •English Learners, Exceptional Needs, Communication Disorders, Elementary Generalist, Early Childhood Generalist, High Ability and Fine Arts cannot transfer from testing alone
- •The temporary reciprocal permit is valid for one year while the listed deficiency is completed
- •An application returned for additional documentation is held for ninety days before closure
- •All licensing fees are nonrefundable, and the date of the second License Application Fee payment becomes the official license issue date
