  1. 1Open Educator License Search on the NJEdCert home page.
  2. 2Enter the required identity fields directly into the official New Jersey form.
  3. 3Review the matching license or credential record inside NJEdCert; older TCIS records were migrated into this system.

What the public record can answer

  • Licenses and credentials available through New Jersey's official certification system

  • Active and inactive licenses associated with the educator's NJEdCert record

  • A state-controlled result rather than a copied commercial directory

Record timing

A submitted application may still be waiting for documents to be matched or reviewed. Read the status inside your private NJEdCert account rather than treating an absent public result as a decision.

No result does not mean no license

  • Check every required identity field against the educator's New Jersey record.
  • If you are the educator, sign in to NJEdCert to view active and inactive licenses and any application activity.
  • Use the NJDOE certification help resources if a known credential is missing after the former TCIS records were migrated.

Issued certificate vs. pending application

NJEdCert separates a public license search from the educator's private account. Sign in to review an application, upload requested documents, see active and inactive licenses or renew a credential. NJDOE says official transcripts can take approximately 10 to 15 business days from receipt to appear in the file.
