Before you search
How to find the right Missouri record
- 01Search by the educator's last and first name; the middle name is optional.
- 02Or choose a year, district, school and educator when you are checking someone tied to a known employer.
- 03Open the matching educator and review the credential record maintained by Missouri DESE.
What the public record can answer
Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
- 01

- 02
Name-based results or credentials organized through a district and school selection
- 03
A record supplied by Missouri DESE rather than a copied commercial directory
Record timing
The public search is for educator credential records. A submitted request can remain visible only inside the applicant's certification account until Missouri completes the application and issues the credential.
If the search comes up empty
Check these before you stop
- •Check the spelling and try the full name used in the educator's certification account.
- •Remove the optional middle name or use the district-and-school path when a name is ambiguous.
- •If you are the educator, sign in to the Certification Account Portal to view a certificate or pending application.
Issued certificate vs. pending application
Missouri's private Certification Account Portal lets an educator view a certificate or pending application, assessment scores, transcript receipt and fingerprint or background status. Those applicant details do not belong in the public credential search.
