Indiana Department of Education record help

Why isn’t my Indiana teacher certificate showing up?

A missing public result does not, by itself, prove that a certificate never existed or that an application was denied. Check what this state publishes, retry the official search carefully and then use the right private or historical record process.

Retry the official Indiana search

The search happens on the agency site. TeachPassport does not receive the name, credential number or result you enter there.

First check

Search the record the way Indiana Department of Education expects

  1. 01Choose Teacher Name and enter at least the educator's last name; add a first name to narrow a common result.
  2. 02Choose License Number when you know the number on the Indiana credential.
  3. 03Choose SPN when you have the educator's Indiana School Personnel Number, then open the matching record.

What this public record includes

Indiana Department of Education

  • 01

    Real-time Indiana educator licensure

  • 02

Licensure history attached to the matching educator

  • 03

License or permit information maintained by the Indiana Department of Education

Record timing

LVIS360 describes the public data as real time. A pending application remains a separate private record until IDOE finishes the licensing action.

If the result is still missing

Use the right next record

  • Check the last-name spelling and try the name that appears on the educator's Indiana record.
  • Switch to license-number or SPN search when you have either identifier.
  • Use the private LVIS360 account for an application that is still being processed; it may not appear as an issued public license yet.

Pending application

A pending file may not belong in the public lookup

The public search shows educator licenses and history. Applicants check a submitted or saved application inside their private LVIS360 account under Application Status, where IDOE also shows requests for more information.
