How Florida handles this coverage

Florida may accept the subject-area examination for this bachelor’s-level subject. Apply first for $75 per subject; Florida’s returned SOE controls the exact requirements. Eligible out-of-state and National Board routes may also apply.

Florida’s returned requirements control. This check does not decide eligibility or infer an examination.

What this check covers

Classroom coverage and school leadership follow different routes

43 classroom coverages

Choose the exact coverage first. Florida may return an exam, degree or content preparation, employer verification, a language proficiency route, or an accepted reciprocal credential. The eligibility statement controls the requirements for your application.

Educational Leadership

A master’s or higher degree, Florida-approved Level I program, all four current FELE subtests, program verification, and application.

School Principal

A valid leadership coverage, full-time Florida public-school leadership role, approved Level II program, supervised duties, evaluation, provider verification, and application. No new exam.

Where this check stops

Florida’s returned requirements remain the final checklist

Endorsements, private-school leadership roles, coverages outside the reviewed classroom catalog, and any requirement Florida does not return clearly go back to the official state process.

Florida certification questions

Which Florida additions can this check?

The free coverage check includes 43 reviewed classroom coverages. This page also includes exact checks for Educational Leadership and School Principal. Mathematics (6–12) is one of the classroom coverages and retains FTCE 026 when Florida returns that requirement.

Can charter-school educators use the School Principal route?

Yes, when the role and program meet Florida’s public-school and approved Level II requirements. Florida recognizes approved school-district, charter-school, and charter-management-organization programs.

Does School Principal require another exam?

Florida’s reviewed Level II progression does not add a new School Principal exam. The approved program, supervised duties, evaluation, provider verification, and application still apply.
